The 12306 English FAQ accepts valid foreign passports. Enter the passenger’s details accurately and follow the platform’s verification prompts. Use the official 12306 website or app, or check the terms of any separate booking provider.
Keep the original document
For an e-ticket journey, China Railway says passengers must show the valid identity document used to purchase the ticket for station checks and boarding. An itinerary sheet or reimbursement receipt is not a travel ticket.
Plan the whole journey
Our suggestion: check the full station names at both ends, then plan travel to the station, checks and boarding. Review whether a booking is actually issued and the conditions for changes. A sightseeing itinerary here does not reserve a train or show live inventory.
