Shenzhen · In-depth place guide
莲花山公园
A green foreground. A city beyond.
Look across Futian from the hill, then change pace beside a lake or on the lawns. There is more than one good way to spend time here.
Find a little space in the city.
A green foreground makes Shenzhen’s scale easier to read. From Lianhuashan, the Civic Center’s low, sweeping roof sits among much taller buildings. At another scale, there are open lawns, water and the ordinary pleasure of sitting in a park. The two photographs from 2025 show different skies over the same city.
The hill also carries a public memory of reform and opening. The Deng Xiaoping statue was unveiled on 14 November 2000. The city archives explain that the setting was chosen to bring the figure and the developing city into one view.[3]
Our suggestion: allow two to three hours for a selective hill-and-park visit, or a shorter lakeside or lawn outing. These are editorial estimates. Choose around your walking tolerance, the actual weather and the return journey; the summit does not have to be the purpose of every visit.
Plan your visit
Choose the view, or choose the pause.
- Published park hours
- 06:00–23:00, with entry ending at 22:30, on the park manager’s undated current webpage. Check temporary notices.[1]
- General entry
- Free entry without a park-entry reservation is listed by local visitor directory Bendibao. Parking reservations and paid services are separate.[14]
- Walking choice
- Hilltop skyline, a lower-ground pause, or a currently confirmed sightseeing vehicle. Do not assume that a low hill is easy for everyone.
- Chinese destination
- 深圳市福田区莲花山公园。Choose a named gate, lawn or service rather than sending everyone to the summit.
Park entry and optional services.
Separate a straightforward park visit from a vehicle ride, a commercial activity and any designated Civic Center light-show viewing area. Confirm the optional service you actually need.
Dated published references; no live service, seat or show inventory.
General park entry
- Published reference
- Listed as free, with no general entry reservation, by Bendibao’s local visitor page.
- Before relying on it
- Current park notices; parking, commercial activities and vehicles have separate arrangements.
Summit sightseeing vehicle — dated 30 April 2025
- Published reference
- CNY 8 per ride or CNY 15 day ticket; reported 09:00–19:00, every 10–15 minutes.
- Before relying on it
- Today’s fare, stops, last return, seat availability, boarding and mobility-aid arrangements.
Free Robobus trial — ended 31 December 2024
- Published reference
- A 450-metre, roughly eight-minute demonstration near the eastern park areas.
- Before relying on it
- Historical context only. Do not use this as current free transport or a summit route.
Civic Center designated show-viewing areas
- Published reference
- The September 2026 district notice requires a separate WeChat reservation for specified platform and square areas.
- Before relying on it
- The actual show date, current viewing rules, required documents and successful reservation; a park shortlist is not admission.

The April 2025 report names the 深i公园 mini-program’s sightseeing-vehicle section. The 2024 launch report also names 深巴出行. Neither purchase flow has been tested using overseas visitor documents, phones or payment methods.[5][4]
The 2024 free trial ran between the anniversary-garden and rainforest-stream area. Its limited route and temporary timetable are separate from the paid summit service.[6]
Make the climb a choice.
If walking limits determine the visit, ask about the vehicle first: today’s boarding place, return service, step into the vehicle, folded or unfolded wheelchair policy and whether a companion can travel. Have a lower-ground plan if it cannot meet your needs.
The park manager publishes 0755-83067950, Monday–Sunday 08:30–17:30, and the address 6030 Hongli Road, Futian. The number has not been called or verified as an English-speaking line.[1]
For a skyline visit after dark, confirm the current park access and return route. For the separate light show, read the latest actual event notice. Building lights, a programmed show and a reserved viewing area are different experiences.
Saving this park adds it to your shortlist. Automatic Shenzhen itineraries are not yet available, and your existing itinerary remains separate.
Find your bearings
Think in areas before thinking in steps.
The illustrated map places Hongli Road south, Xinzhou Road west, Lianhua Road north and Caitian Road east. Use its compass and named paths; it is not a measured track.[2]
Choose hill and summit, southern lawns and Lotus Lake, or eastern water and gardens. The map marks entrances and facilities, without certifying current operation or step-free access.[2]
City and memory
A lower-ground pause
Stay curious
Open the park manager’s original illustrated map ↗
The park manager dates public opening to June 1997.[1]
The Deng Xiaoping statue was unveiled on 14 November. Its walking pose and setting connect the memorial with the city beyond.[3]
The manager identifies the Special Economic Zone’s 30th-anniversary garden as a 2010 addition.[1]
Dated reports document vehicle services, drone delivery and new park amenities. Each records a particular service or moment, not a guarantee that every device works for every visitor.
A closer reading
What to look for.
These are ways to look, pause and choose. Read the actual signs and give a few subjects proper time. The photographs carry dates, and the outlines are editorial suggestions rather than physically surveyed routes.
A hilltop view
福田天际线与市民中心
Give the skyline a foreground
Start with the whole composition: vegetation close to you, the broad Civic Center roof, then the taller buildings behind and beside it. In the September and December 2025 photographs, clouds and haze change the mood without changing the basic relationship.
The 2010 photograph offers a different dated city view. Compare the shapes and skyline you can actually see; it is not a perfectly aligned before-and-after pair. On your day, the most useful photograph may be a wide one that includes the green foreground.
Our looking suggestionTake one wide view before zooming in. Leave a comfortable space for others to stop.
The summit memorial
邓小平铜像
A figure taking a step forward
The city archives name Teng Wenjin as the principal artist, working with Bai Lansheng, Liu Lin and Yang Jinhuan. The bronze figure is six metres high, on a 3.68-metre base. Its forward-walking posture was a deliberate design choice.[3]
The July 2026 photograph shows the figure, planting and the inscription 邓小平同志 on the base. Read the monument as a composition: one step, a lifted coat edge, the solid plinth and the trees behind. Give people observing or commemorating the memorial their space.
Our looking suggestionLook once at the silhouette and once at the gesture. The memorial and the skyline reward different kinds of attention.
Choose the approach you mean
公园入口与城市轴线
An entrance is part of the visit
The photographs show a red-framed entrance in December 2010 and a broad white-columned approach in May 2026. They are different views and dates; do not treat them as one gate rebuilt in between without evidence.
Choose an entrance for what you want to do. A summit-bound visit, a lawn pause and a northern indoor stop can lead to different approaches. The original manager map is more useful for that choice than a generic pin placed at the centre of the park.
Our looking suggestionMatch the actual Chinese entrance or destination name before leaving the station or a vehicle.
Public memory at another scale
深圳经济特区建立30周年纪念园
A garden for a city’s anniversary
The park manager identifies a garden marking the Special Economic Zone’s 30th anniversary, built in 2010. It sits west of the eastern scenic areas.[1]
Look for how a memorial is made from landscape as well as written interpretation: an approach, a pause, planting and a place to read. Use the current name signs before identifying a particular carved wall. The illustrated map helps locate the subject without establishing today’s precise access.
Our looking suggestionRead an actual label and choose one episode to understand, rather than trying to photograph every panel.
A lower-ground visit
草坪与林缘
Leave room for an ordinary park afternoon
The October 2025 photograph shows an open lawn framed by trees and the wooded hill. A lawn visit can be the main outing: a comfortable place to sit, something to read and time to watch the scale of the park change as people cross it.
Follow the current signs for permitted lawn use and any designated tent areas. A tent symbol on the old illustrated map is not a reservation or permission for overnight camping. Choose a place that leaves paths and other visitors’ space clear.
Our looking suggestionNotice the edge between lawn and shade. Select a comfortable patch before committing to a longer walk.
Open sky and everyday recreation
风筝广场
Look up, then look at the people
The manager identifies the southeastern lawn as Kite Square. The colourful kite photograph records a visitor in December 2010; the livelier lawn scene elsewhere in this guide is from October 2016.[1]
You do not need to buy anything to enjoy watching. Look at how people judge the wind, arrange a kite on the ground and make room for one another. If you want to fly one yourself, follow the current permitted area and leave space around paths and other visitors.
Our looking suggestionA small subject in a large sky can make a better memory than another close-up of a tall building.
Water and a wooded slope
莲花湖
One lake, a different pace
The original map identifies Lotus Lake separately from Yangri Lake. Choose the actual lake you mean when asking for directions. The 2016 photograph shows boats, but it does not establish a current rental service or its terms.[2]
Look along the shore before choosing a stopping place. You might enjoy a reflection, the curve of the tree line or the contrast between open water and dense planting. A short lakeside pause is a reasonable alternative to making a summit climb the day’s goal.
Our looking suggestionAsk for 莲花湖 and use a current permitted path. Any boat ride needs its own present-day check.
The eastern park
漾日湖/晓风漾日
Another name, another water garden
Yangri Lake is a separate subject in the eastern park. The July 2023 photograph shows trees and clouds reflected in a smaller water scene. The manager’s map and its eastern scenic-area names help keep this place distinct from Lotus Lake.[2]
The November 2025 city report placed the newly opened Zimo bougainvillea garden beside the eastern Xiaofeng Yangri lake area. That is useful location context, not a promise of the same display, planted numbers or opening arrangement today.[7]
Our looking suggestionUse 漾日湖 or 晓风漾日 when asking, rather than just “the lake.”
Look closer
簕杜鹃与花园
Colour at the scale of a hand
The November 2025 flower-week report identifies both Yuxiu Garden and the newer Zimo Garden as bougainvillea subjects. Its festival ran 7–21 November 2025; those dates are not a 2026 event calendar.[7]
The close photograph is older, from November 2013. Look at the papery red-pink forms, the small pale flowers within them and the change in colour where light passes through an edge. The photograph is a looking prompt, not a guarantee of flowering for your travel date.
Our looking suggestionTry one close view and one wider view showing how the colour belongs to the garden.
Distance and shade
山林与观景选择
A hill is more than its highest point
The September 2026 photograph shows the wooded hill beyond a paved public space. Decide what you want from the landscape before choosing a path: the higher view, some shade, or simply a green edge to the city.
For a limited-mobility visit, a helpful question is the distance you can comfortably manage between rests, rather than whether the whole hill is generally called easy. The vehicle’s boarding and return arrangements need checking directly; a short elevation figure would not settle those questions.
Our looking suggestionPause at a point that already feels rewarding. Use a return plan suited to your own walking tolerance.
A recorded demonstration, an optional experiment
无人机配送与公园设施
Technology that serves a park visit
Marina’s September 2024 EyeShenzhen film demonstrates drone-delivered food at Lianhua Hill Park. We played the original and inspected ordering and collection scenes. It is a useful way to see what the service looked like, not proof that your phone, payment method or chosen order will work now.[8]
An October 2026 district report also documents benches made from recycled takeaway packaging in Lianhua and other Futian parks. The examples invite a small question about an ordinary object: what was it made from? Specific bench counts in other parks are not assigned to every Lianhua bench.[10]
Our looking suggestionIf a service interests you, ask for the actual operating point and current conditions. Keep an ordinary food or rest option.
Reading and a technology-themed interior
阿尔法蛋智慧空间
A northern stop for a different interest
A July 2026 district English report identifies Alpha Egg Smart Space in the park’s northern area, combining a book bar, AI experiences and cultural retail. It names Lianhua North station on Line 4, Exit A2, as its approach reference.[9]
Treat it as a separately operated indoor stop. Ask about today’s opening, any purchase or activity charges, English support and the actual experience available. It need not be added to a southern-lawn visit simply because both are in the same park.
Our looking suggestionChoose it because the subject interests you; confirm the actual door before crossing the park for it.
Keep the arrangements separate
夜景与灯光表演
A city view after the light changes
For National Day 2026, the district announced shows on 1–7 October at 19:30, 20:30 and 21:30. Specified Civic Center platform and square viewing areas required WeChat reservations. Those are dated event arrangements, not this park’s universal entry rules or a permanent nightly timetable.[12]
A night skyline can still be your subject without a promised show. Check the current programme if it matters, along with weather, park access and how you will return. A view from the hill and entering a designated Civic Center audience area are different decisions.
Our looking suggestionDecide whether you want a city after dark, or an actual scheduled performance. Prepare for the one you choose.
Choose what matters
Make the visit yours.
A selective first visit with walking or a suitable confirmed vehicle; allow roughly two to three hours as an editorial estimate.
Make the skyline the main event
- Keep
- One view, the statue and time to return comfortably.
- The trade-off
- Skip an all-park circuit and keep optional services separate.
Confirm the approach
Choose the actual entrance and ask about a vehicle if needed.
Read the city
Take a wide view and identify the Civic Center’s relationship to the skyline.
Give the memorial time
Look at the walking figure, inscription and planting.
Return without rushing
Use a confirmed return option; add a lower-ground pause only if it suits your energy.
Not a measured route or step-free certification. Visibility, weather, paths and transport can alter the visit.
All outlines are editorial estimates, not field-tested routes. Follow current admission rules and venue directions.
Arrival, energy and interpretation
Get the details right.
Choose the entrance for your visit.
The park manager gives Shaoniangong station Exit F1 as an approach. Its stated three-minute walk is a published estimate, not a physically measured route by our team.[1]
The illustrated map also distinguishes approaches from Lianhua West, Lianhuacun and northern stations. Match your destination and current station signs; a convenient entrance for one subject may be inconvenient for another.[2]
For the northern Alpha Egg space, the July 2026 district report names Line 4 Lianhua North, Exit A2. This does not certify a step-free path to the door.[9]
Show the exact Chinese destination to a driver and ask for a lawful pickup or drop-off. Gate, hilltop, museum-like interior and nearby Civic Center audience area should not be treated as interchangeable pins.
Ask for the visit that suits you.
Choose the actual place or service. These questions do not reserve a vehicle, activity or show.

Walking, rest and mobility needs
Ask about the actual distance between usable rest points, slopes, thresholds, toilets and vehicle boarding. A complete step-free route, wheelchair provision, baby-changing and luggage storage have not been physically checked.
The April 2025 vehicle report gives an approximate 20–30-minute journey and boarding when safe and seats permit. That description does not establish a current reserved seat or wheelchair accommodation.[5]
Food and a practical pause
Bring a food and drink plan suited to your own needs. Check menus, final prices and ingredients directly if buying. The recorded delivery demonstration and the photos’ old businesses are not current recommendations.
If trying drone delivery, confirm the actual delivery cabinet, available route, phone and payment requirements, weather conditions and collection procedure before ordering. The film is preparation material, not a purchase made for you.
Weather and the view
Use the forecast and current park notices to choose the day’s scale. Heat, rain, cloud or haze can change whether the hill or a lower-ground pause feels worthwhile. Check the return option before staying late.
The skyline photographs show real conditions on their recorded dates. Neither is a forecast, and our visit outlines are not timed against actual crowding.
Show viewing and family arrangements
September’s notice restricted strollers, bikes and some camera equipment in designated Civic Center audience areas. This is not a general park-wide ban; check current event rules.[12]

Before you ask.
Do I have to climb to enjoy it?
Choose the visit you want. A lawn or lakeside pause can be the whole outing. Confirm the actual approach and rest facilities for your own walking tolerance.
Is the sightseeing vehicle free?
A paid summit service is documented in April 2025. A different free 2024 Robobus trial was short, temporary and did not go to the summit. Confirm today’s service and fare.[5][6]
Does the light show still have a maintenance closure?
Later official reports document the National Day return. Future show dates still need checking.[12][13]
Can the photographs tell me when to see flowers?
They show what was present on their recorded dates. Flowering and seasonal displays depend on current conditions; the 2025 flower-week dates do not become the 2026 dates.
Is drone delivery guaranteed to work for a visitor?
No transaction has been tested using an overseas visitor’s phone and payment method. Use the original recorded demonstration to understand the idea, then confirm the current service and have an ordinary food option.
Will this create a Shenzhen route?
It saves a place to your shortlist. Automatic Shenzhen itineraries are not yet supported, and your existing trip remains separate.
Dates, sources and photographs
Follow the evidence.
We read the park manager’s page and original illustrated map, municipal and district service records, city-archive history, original reporting and a visitor discussion about mobility. Each approved photograph is a genuine dated licensed image reviewed at full available size. How conflicting descriptions were handled
The manager’s page is used for its published park calendar. Its body has no verified update date, and an older flower-show edition count is not promoted to a current total.[1]
The 2024 Robobus trial and the paid summit sightseeing line have different routes, purpose and dates. They are not combined into an evergreen free summit shuttle.[6][4]
The 30 April 2025 vehicle tariff, service span and interval are retained as dated references, not a successful current purchase or a fixed 2026 timetable.[5]
Later reports supersede the April suspension for National Day. Community comments and holiday schedules are not current evergreen programmes.[11][12][13]
The commercial visitor directory supports the general free-entry reference only. Its seasonal tips, exact walking claims and summit-lawn wording are not treated as park-authority instructions.[14]
The two lakes, two entrance photographs and different skyline years are kept distinct. The park manager map is not a current physical-access audit.
The principal statue artist is Teng Wenjin. City-archive text and its municipal mirrors share one underlying source budget. A different artist’s similarly named work is not substituted.[3]
The November 2025 flower-week report supplies historical garden context, not a 2026 event announcement or a promise of plant numbers and flowering.[7]
The 2026 recycled-bench report includes different parks. A count attached to a Bijia Mountain example is not attributed to every bench at Lianhua Hill Park.[10]
A visitor’s limited-mobility question and contrasting replies identify useful planning needs: rest distances, heat, vehicle boarding and return. Their suggested times, show status and hotel assistance are not adopted as current official facts.[15]
What still needs direct confirmation
- A continuous physical step-free route, current lifts, accessible toilets, wheelchair supply and actual vehicle boarding for mobility aids.
- Current vehicle fares, service span, weather interruptions, last return, seat availability and overseas visitor transactions.
- Future show dates, viewing-area access, successful booking and document or phone requirements.
- Current flower-show dates and display conditions, commercial interiors, device availability and English support.
- Actual drone-delivery route, menu, price, phone and payment compatibility for an overseas visitor.
- A working online360tour and physical-phone media playback.
